The flag of China Democratic Socialist Party, founded in 1946 and later
retreated to Taiwan in 1949, is a red-white-black stripe flag with a green
Chinese character“井”in the center. The symbolism of the flag, according to the
party the flag is "a symbol of mild socialism", is:
- Red: Warmth and
compassion
- White: Fairness and brightness
- Black: Determination and
discipline as iron
- The green 井 character (resembles a hash tag #): Green
symbolizes peace, the character is a symbol of "Well-field system" (from 9
century BC,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Well-field_system), the traditional Chinese
ideal of equalitarianism. The character 井 resembles ridges on fields.

After the 1949 retreat to Taiwan, until the legalization of full multi-party
system in 1987, the party was one of three legal parties, along with the Kuomintang
and the Chinese Youth Party but had a limited impact
on the national politics during that period. In late 1980s, the party suffered
from three splits, which resulted in formation of new parties by the breakaway
groups, and lost most of its influence, failing to gain the elected
representation onwards, but it still exists, although seems to have no online
presence.

In 2020, the party was disbanded by the Ministry of the Interior,
having
failed to re-register after the changes in the law regarding
political
